Remember This:
Not every follower will like or comment on your post, but they are watching.
People often read, absorb, and remember without engaging directly.
Here’s an example
Ever had someone mention a post of yours in real life, even though they didn’t like or comment on it?
This happens more than you think, so don’t get discouraged by numbers alone!
I recently ran a Black Friday offer on our Scrummy Cream, the offer was 3 tubs for £30. I sold 15 tubs of cream at this discounted rate, not one of the purchasers liked, shared or commented on my promotion post.
Understand Your Audience
Know who you’re talking to. If your audience is mums, for example, think about what resonates with them, for example;
- Funny memes about parenting
- Relatable moments
- Mix it up a bit, choose from funny, heartwarming, awareness, interesting, thought-provoking posts
Ask questions
This is a great way to engage with your followers.
- Ask them what they want you to help them with.
- Ask them questions that provoke a short reply eg. ‘what sort of activities do you enjoy doing with your kids on a rainy day?’
Content mix
Don’t just sell to your audience…
Aim for:
- 30% of your posts are sales posts – special offers, testimonials, newsletters etc.
- 70% of your posts aim to add value to your reader (like this post) think, how can you help your follower?
Adding value examples
Share tips or discounts your audience will love.
- Here’s an example for brand who’s target audience is mum’s “Sainsbury’s is offering 25% off wine this week, perfect for busy mums!
- Post helpful advice or funny, relatable content.
- Post something that makes your audience laugh or say, “That’s so me!”
